How to make a QR code for a link
A QR code is only as useful as the address inside it. Use a short URL, check that it opens, then download the image.
Put a URL in, not a paragraph
Paste the address people should open, including https://. A short link scans more reliably than a long query string or a block of text.
Open the address once before you encode it. A QR code will faithfully point at a broken or private page.
Download the PNG and leave room around it
The tool draws the image on the page. Download saves a PNG you can drop into a slide, a poster, or a page.
Keep a quiet margin around the code when you place it. A code that touches a photo or a border is harder to scan.
The code is drawn on this page
Nothing is sent to a QR service. The text you encode stays in the browser. If the value is a secret, treat the downloaded image as a secret too.
