Hash Generator
Create a hexadecimal checksum from text. SHA-256 is selected by default.
Processed in your browser. The text is not sent to our servers.
How to generate a hash
- Paste the text you want to checksum.
- Choose an algorithm. SHA-256 is the usual choice.
- Generate the hash and copy the hexadecimal digest.
SHA-1 is included for older checksums. Prefer SHA-256 or stronger for new work. A hash is not a password store and cannot be reversed into the original text.

Is the text uploaded?
No. The digest is calculated in your browser with the Web Crypto API and the text is not sent to our servers.
